IHG teams around the globe celebrate successful Pride Month
Through Pride Month and always, we’re all in – and we’ve been celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community across IHG, striving to give our employees the confidence to be whoever they want to be. So, it was heart-warming to see so many regions around the world parade, march and unite to embrace Pride in style this June.
Keep reading to catch up with how our teams came together to demonstrate active allyship for peers and colleagues through amazing activities and events in our Pride Month round-up.
Pride in the UK
We were proud to sponsor London’s “Proud and Loud: Celebrating 50 Years of Pride” concert. Members of our UK team also marched in the 50th annual London Pride for the first time as part of our #AllOurPride initiative across the business. We’d like to thank Out&Open Europe for making our first participation a great success.
Pride in the Philippines
Our team in the Philippines also joined their local Pride PH Festival – marching with joy to honour the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community by creating a safe space that uplifts and emboldens people in the region to come together and challenge local institutions by calling for radical change.
Pride in India
The IHG India Lean-In Circle built on the theme of Stronger Together by welcoming award-winning transgender activist, artist, poet, actor and inspirational guest speaker, Kalki Subramaniam. After sharing her unique journey, Kalki spoke to colleagues about gender identity and practical tips around how to model inclusive behaviours in the workplace. Check out our previous blog on it for more.
While Pride Month may have come to an end for another year, we’re only just getting started. We’re committed to building a truly inclusive environment where our people feel empowered and enabled to bring their full selves to work.
