Job Summary:

As a Quality Control & Trainer at Regent Santa Monica Beach, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, order, style, and guest satisfaction. Your leadership and organizational skills will contribute to creating a luxurious and welcoming environment for our esteemed guests.

A little bit about your day:

Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, every day is different, but you will mostly:

  • Promote Regent’s service philosophy and style through our people attributes. 
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the hotel.
  • Retrieve housekeeping assignments and other tools essential for your shift.

  • Enforce health and safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Ensure all chemical bottles are correctly labeled following MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) guidelines.
  • Train room attendants, on Regent standards and how to clean guest rooms.
  • Attend daily shift briefings.
  • Review AM/PM shift to pass-on and follow up on issues and concerns accordingly. 
  • Review opera and KYC reports, i.e., traces and preferences, to ensure completion. 
  • Inspect all occupied and vacant rooms and suites daily to ensure standards are being met consistently. 
  • Provide training for new hires and ongoing training for colleagues. 
  • Provide training for room attendants for self-inspect program. 
  • Review out-of-order and out-of-service room reports and follow up with an update for the coordinator and housekeeping leaders.
  • Monitor room cleaning and housemen tasks in KYC to ensure status update and completion. 
  • Supervise all housekeeping colleagues on daily tasks and provide assistance and training as needed. 
  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, and corridors daily to ensure cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Front Office and Engineering, to ensure a harmonious flow of communication and task priorities. 
  • Provide ongoing training to housekeeping colleagues on cleaning protocols, guest interactions, and other specific standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement regarding cleanliness and implement corrective measures with housekeeping leadership.
  • Inspect all housekeeping closets for linens, terry, amenities, and cleaning supplies to ensure cleanliness standards are upheld.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping colleagues adhere to the sequence of service standard operating procedures and service standards.
  • Uphold the resort's commitment to environmental sustainability in housekeeping practices.

What We need from you:

  • Previous experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and hotel operations.
  • Outstanding organizational abilities and skills for taking initiative, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and prioritizing.
  • Passionate about hospitality and providing an outstanding guest experience.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. 

What you can expect from us: 

The hourly pay range for this role is $25.24 to $31.55. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
