We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the product strategy, development, and delivery of IHG's China payments and financial settlement capabilities within IHG's global booking and reservation systems. The ideal candidate is a seasoned product professional with deep knowledge of China's payment ecosystem, financial regulations, and agile software development — capable of bridging Global and China teams to deliver complex, compliance-driven payment solutions.
The role is primarily responsible for Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for China payment capabilities within IHG's global systems, incorporating deep understanding of customer insights, Greater China market and competition, regulatory landscape (cross-border data transfer, PCI DSS), payment ecosystem (digital payments, UnionPay, international card networks), and hotel finance operations. Continually evaluate product performance and ensure new product needs are identified in advance.
The role will also manage relationships with external payment service providers, banks, and financial institutions in China. Communicate product roadmap, specifications, value proposition, and competitive information to regional and global stakeholders. Provide status updates to PMO for regular reporting cycles.

Your day to day
• Own the product vision for China-compliant payment workflows within IHG's reservation booking journey: card validation and tokenization via China local payment providers, payment pre-authorization, deposit guarantees, cancellation/refund processing, and hotel-side settlement.
• Drive requirements for multi-channel payment integration across IHG Mobile APPs, Websites, WeChat Mini-Programs, and other China-specific channels — supporting digital payments, China UnionPay, and international card networks.
• Define requirements for China-localized payment routing, token storage, and data flow design to ensure payment data compliance with global and regional regulations.
• Prioritize and drive new product development — create sound business cases based on needs assessment and projected feasibility. Incorporate a user/customer-centric approach to all development efforts, engaging appropriate product support teams and developers early in the process.
• Maintain and prioritize product backlogs, define and author detailed product requirements including user stories and Business Requirements Documents (BRDs). Engage regional and global product, hotel support teams, and developers early to capture full perspective in creating "best fit" products.
• Serve as Product Owner in the agile SDLC process, working daily with developers, scrum masters, QA testers, project managers, UX designers, and other team members across Global and China teams to ensure continuous flow of improvements and fixes from concept through delivery.
• Participate in design of technology solutions, user-experience, testing criteria, and launch plans. Triage defects and ensure fixes are prioritized.

What we need from you
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Finance, or related discipline
• 5+ years managing software products, with 2+ years in payment, fintech, or financial systems
• Experience with Chinese payment service providers, banks, or financial institutions — strongly preferred
• Experience with hotel/hospitality systems (PMS, reservation/booking, payment processing) — a plus
• CRM and/or Loyalty platform experience — a plus
• Agile/Scrum methodology with hands-on Product Owner experience
• Deep knowledge of China's payment ecosystem — digital payment (Alipay/WeChat Pay), Credit Card payments, multi-channel payment integration
• Understanding of Chinese financial regulations
• Technical acumen: system architecture, API integrations, payment gateway routing, database design
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English
