In this team, you may find sales managers, marketing executives and business development managers, all working hard to connect with customers. Expert account management plays a big part along with compelling marketing.
These professionals develop networks to promote the hotel and explore new revenue streams. They publicise special services, exciting events and any discounts or offers. Every campaign and project is part of a broader sales strategy that’s agreed with hotel managers and IHG. The aim is to bring together more people than ever with exceptional hospitality – and an extraordinary world.
Role areas
As a Sales Manager, you’ll be proud to introduce more people to the IHG experience and build key accounts. You’ll feel inspired by what we can offer and the opportunity to deliver more delighted guests.
Everything you do will be in line with a Sales & Marketing plan that’s designed to boost the business. Your main task is to manage an account portfolio with the goal of generating revenue and increasing our market share. In practice, that means building great relationships with current clients so they spend more with us. You’ll also develop your network, investigate prospective clients and keep an eye on competitors.
Senior Sales Managers may be responsible for sales executives, sales co-ordinators and business development professionals. With your coaching and support, they’ll be motivated to strive for sales targets, just like you. You therefore need the experience to instil sales skills and spark ambition. It also helps if you’re a people person – you’ll be talking to diverse contacts across and beyond the industry.
